This is a key touchpoint for council in creating, defining and advocating a vision for one of council’s key regeneration sites. Your role will be to find consensus across council departments on issues relating to public amenity and public realm and advocate for these to state government departments and private sector design consortia.
Working across different council departments your role will be create, define and advocate councils’ position for this pivotal precinct to a range of stakeholders from deign consortia, state government departments and agencies.
Helping to define the vision for the area, you will understand Urban Design/Planning and whilst operating at a blue-sky level as opposed to the minutiae, you will understand how to use planning controls to sway future development. In particular you will be a natural advocate for public realm and public amenity and be passionate about proposed developments creating a meaningful legacy for both this and its surrounding neighborhoods.
A contract role for 6-9 months, it is envisioned that this person is likely to be a strategic planner, but urban designers, statutory planners or other related disciplines are encouraged to apply.
