A Facilities Manager is required for a temporary assignment within a local government organisation located just over an hour from Melbourne. The region is known for its natural environs and mineral springs. You will coordinate the maintenance and day to day management of all properties owned by Council as well as ensure that facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards. While you will primarily focus on the reactive component of managing current issues, managing staff and issues associated with council buildings you will also contribute your knowledge of building management to development a successful building management approach for the future.
To be successful you will have developed skills in public and private property and facilities management, ideally 3 years of experience in a similar position. You will have knowledge of legal procedures relating to the acquisition, sale and leasing of property and the ability to prepare associated reports and documentation. You will have excellent oral and written communication skills and able to manage a large number of tasks concurrently. Previous local government experience is desirable. You will also hold a current Victorian Driver’s License.
