Set within an area of Victoria that is known for its built form heritage and scenery, council are seeking an energetic manager who has the capacity to inspire and innovate a team of around 16 staff incorporating planning, building, health, and local laws.
Responsible for the smooth running of a department that runs around 300-350 planning applications and around 400 building permits a year, it is expected that the successful candidate will come from a planning background (ideally with an interest in heritage based on the types of application this council deals with).
Beyond the day-day, council are investing significant resources into the department that will see the introduction of new IT systems and potentially the expansion of shared service agreements with neighbouring councils and additional staff making it an exciting time to join.
This role would be a career positioning role for someone managing a small planning team who is looking to broaden their portfolio to oversee other non-planning related activities (such as building and health). Doing so within a genuinely beautiful part of Victoria.
