An Environmental Health Officer is required to monitor and enforce standards of environmental and public health within an inner north-west local government organisation. This is an ideal short term opportunity to increase your local government experience. You will examine and approve applications, plans, food registration, renewals and transfers under the Food Act as well as advise the community and commercial operators of guidelines and statutory obligations. You will assist in providing immunisation programs, investigate infectious diseases as required and conduct water sampling for waterways, drains, swimming pools and spas.
To be successful you will have extensive knowledge of public health legislation and a relevant tertiary qualification. You will have relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within local council and eligibility to be a member of the Australian Institute of Environmental Health. You will also hold a current Victorian Driver’s License.
