We are currently seeking a civil engineer/transport planner for a contract role running till mid 2021 involved in the development of business cases for capital works projects relating to road safety.
You will be able to scope out projects (typically smaller scale road projects between the values of $200-300K to $1M) identifying the preferred options and assigning a relevant cost value to the project. This will involve you using your knowledge of road construction to understand the steps involved in the process, identifying any major areas of ambiguity, conducting further investigation of these areas via procurement and management of consultants and assigning a cost estimate to the project for final review and approval.
Successful candidates will be a civil engineer who has worked either client or consultancy side in the pre-construction phases of a project. They will have relevant experience of road reviewing concept and functional designs and have worked to Austroads standards. They will be able to demonstrate good project management skills and an ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
This is an initial contract role running till June 2021. Remote working is available both now and post lockdown. Hourly rate $55-60+super.
