ABOUT MOIRA SHIRE
Moira Shire is situated in north-eastern Victoria, covering towns such as Cobram, Yarrawonga and Tungamah. Located in the Murray River, the area has a strong link to water-base recreation ranging from cruises, water skiing, kayaking to fishing for Murray Cod! The Shire is easily accessible to other regional centres such as Shepparton, Albury/Wodonga and Wangaratta.
YOUR NEW ROLE
Council is seeking to recruit a Senior Town Planner to cover a maternity leave for a period of 12 months. Reporting to the Planning Coordinator and being a part of a small team, you will be responsible for assessing permit applications (with higher complexity), guiding Junior Planners, and providing customer service.
Being in regional area, the types of applications will have more a ‘rural’ flavour including residential development and subdivisions, industrial and commercial as well as native vegetation and rural subdivisions.
Operating at a Band 6 level, the ideal candidate would have previous experience in a similar role. In saying that, it may be suitable for an experienced Band 5 Planner looking for a step up in their career. Those with 3+ years’ experience either in local government or private sector are encouraged to apply. Interstate candidates are also welcome to apply for this role.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary range between $77,954.19 – $84,587.21 + 9.5% superannuation. You will also have access to other benefits such as career progression and professional development, discounted corporate gym membership, and onsite physiotherapist and a health & wellbeing consultant.
*Please note that different set of restrictions apply in Regional Victoria, and therefore, the role will be based on-site. Whilst some degree of flexibility and remote working arrangements are available, the successful candidate will eventually have to base themselves in the local area.
