ABOUT MOIRA SHIRE
Moira Shire is situated in north-eastern Victoria, covering towns such as Cobram, Yarrawonga and Tungamah. Located in the Murray River, the area has a strong link to water-base recreation ranging from cruises, water skiing, kayaking to fishing for Murray Cod! The Shire is easily accessible to other regional centres such as Shepparton, Albury/Wodonga and Wangaratta.
YOUR NEW ROLE
An exciting opportunity is now available as Council is looking to recruit a Town Planner to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Planning Coordinator, you will be responsible for assessing permit applications, providing customer service, handling enquiries, as well as being involved in some strategic planning projects i.e. planning scheme amendments.
Being in regional area, the types of applications will have more a ‘rural’ flavour including residential development and subdivisions, industrial and commercial as well as native vegetation and rural subdivisions.
This role is open to either Band 5 or 6 candidates, meaning the role is suitable for Junior/Graduate Planners or those with 3+ years’ town planning experience. Interstate candidates are also welcome to apply for this role.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary range between $64,804.67 – $77,954.19 + 9.5% superannuation. You will also have access to other benefits such as career progression and professional development, discounted corporate gym membership, and onsite physiotherapist and a health & wellbeing consultant.
*Please note that different set of restrictions apply in Regional Victoria, and therefore, the role will be based on-site. Whilst some degree of flexibility and remote working arrangements are available, the successful candidate will eventually have to base themselves in the local area.
