This busy council are currently undertaking the development of a significant sized PSP and are seeking a senior strategic planner to lead the process.
Working at the inception of the project, your role will involve the early stage development of the project including the review of existing guidelines, and consultation with a number of key land-owners and key stakeholders, taking the process through to rezoning.
The successful candidate will be comfortable negotiating with senior players from within the development industry, and will be able to negotiate outcomes that balance both the commercial requirements of a large scale development with ensuring good quality development and the provision of quality amenities for both the immediate development and wider community.
Candidates should be planning qualified, have technical experience of running major projects (ideally greenfield, but not essential), and possess the interpersonal skills that will allow multiple groups with conflicting objectives to find common ground.
This role will run for an initial 6 months, although it is envisioned that the project requirements for this role will see if run substantially into next financial year as well. Whilst some office based activities and site visits will be required, it is envisioned that a proportion of this role can be WFH.
