Traffic Engineer

Working with this growing team, this council is looking for a junior engineer who is looking to develop their craft in traffic engineering.

Supported and mentored by a manager and a number of experienced senior traffic engineers, this candidate will develop their traffic/transport skills initially by working on planning referrals, speed changes, parking and general customer queries – initially on smaller projects, but with a large volume of work, diversity in type and scale of projects the idea is to develop a candidates ability through real-live projects to quickly develop their competency.

Candidates should ideally be a civil engineer and be able to demonstrate some interest in traffic engineering either through project work, or work experience (ideally 12 months or so).  They should be able comfortable challenging themselves to excel by stepping outside their comfort zone with ever increasing project complexity (albeit in a supported environment).  They should possess excellent communication skills and above all be genuinely interested in a career in traffic/transport.
