An Environmental Health Officer is required within a local government organisation in the south-eastern suburbs. You will monitor and enforce standards of environmental and public health within the municipality including but not limited to applications, plans, food registration, renewals and transfers under the Food Act, swimming pool and spa water sampling, enforce requirements of the Tobacco Act and investigate infectious diseases notifications. You will advise the community and commercial operators of guidelines and statutory obligations. You will inspect and audit registered establishments and serve notices as required to ensure compliance.
To be successful you will have relevant experience as an Environmental Health Officer and prior local government experience will be desirable. You will have extensive knowledge of public health legislation and a working knowledge of food safety program review processes. You will have a relevant degree and experience in software relevant to the health area. You will also hold a current Victorian Driver’s License.
