An Animal Management Officer is required within a Northern suburbs local government organisation to assist in the delivery of activities outlined within the Domestic Animal Management Plan. You will action all contained animal collection requests in accordance with Council’s customer service guidelines, including locating and impounding dogs and cats which are at large, wandering or not under effective control. You will take action in respect of livestock wandering on roads and public or Council controlled land. You will perform all administrative functions involved with animal management collection processes as required and transport cats participating in Council’s cat desexing program. This role is temporary until 30th June 2021.
To be successful you will have proven experience in a similar role and substantial animal handling and capturing experience. You will hold a Certificate IV in Local Government & Animal Control. You will have the ability to provide a high level of customer service and excellent knowledge and understanding of related legislation associated with domestic animals. You will have basic computer literacy and skilled in using technology including GIS mapping, mobile phone and mobile computing device. You will hold a current valid Victorian Drivers License.
