- 3-6 month contract
- Help deliver both strategic projects and on ground interventions
- Attractive Hourly Rate
Working for this inner-city council you will a part of their Placemaking team in helping to deliver a range of both higher-level strategies as well as smaller interventions. Currently requiring a resource to backfill long-term illness this role will run for an initial 3 months, with a potential extension for at least another 3 months beyond this.
As with most Placemaking roles, the client is open on qualifications (although likely to be something associated with Place/Space such as Town Planning, Urban Design or Landscape Architecture), and happy to look at varied experience, although they will need:
1 – Have a core skill around stakeholder management, especially at a community level and be able to organise consultation plans, oversee the process (including the collation of materials) and be capable/comfortable operating at the coal face of community interactions.
2 – Have a technical understanding of place at an intimate level. Whilst the main projects aren’t currently at a stage of requiring micro-management of technical solutions, it is expected that candidates will have a holistic understanding of spatial strategies, urban design concepts and place-based interventions in order to be able to understand and communicate complex ideas effectively.
3 – Project Management Skills – Whilst the role doesn’t the expertise of an Engineer in terms of Project Delivery, some of your projects will go into the delivery phases to an ability to coordinate different disciplines (more in a commonsense perspective than a hard-nosed contract management perspective).
