There is a need for a Communications Advisor to backfill a role within a communications team working for a large council in the South eastern suburbs. This temporary role at a Band 6 equivalent has a strong possibility of extension and is an excellent opportunity to further your public sector experience. This generalist role will involve managing marketing campaigns, publish content on social media channels, and creating media releases. You will use your exceptional written and verbal communications skills and liaise with mutliple internal and external stakeholders. You will also create EDMs and website content.
To be successful you will have demonstrated experience in a similar communications role with a relevant qualification. Prior experience within a council setting, while not essential is highly desirable, or public sector experience in state or federal government. You will ideally have a sound understanding of council processes and procedures and experience writing media releases. You will have exceptional written and verbal skills and be able to manage competing priorities from multiple stakeholders. You will hold a current Victorian Drivers license and be able to complete a National Police Check and Working With Childrens Check.
