A Freedom of Information Officer is required for a temporary role until September 2021 at a local government organisation located in Broadmeadows. You will respond to requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act 1982. There is scope for this role to be remote. In this community facing role you will process FOI requests from receiving, processing, acknowledging, coordinating information throughout, to preparing interim and final responses for your signature. Alongside this you will be involved with process mapping and other governance related tasks.
To be successful you will have proven experience using the Freedom of Information Act 1982 in Victoria. You will be an excellent communicator both in verbal and written settings. You will be proven experience managing multiple tasks and have a focus on meeting deadlines. You will ideally have skills in process review to review current FOI process, recomment improvements and map these. Due to the narrow nature of the skills required prior local government experience in Victoria is highly desirable. You will hold a current Victorian Drivers License and have or be able to obtain a Victorian Police Check.
