A Traffic Engineer is required within a northern suburbs local government organisation to undertake and provide solutions to matters relating to traffic management and transportation ensuring that applications and customer requests are dealt with promptly. You will assist in undertaking Local Area Traffic Management and other traffic studies with consultation from community groups and other stakeholders. You will assist and supervise staff with investigations, tasks and projects as required by the Coordinator Traffic. You will undertake traffic data collection and surveyor including the management of staff and consultants. You will also prepare applications and advocate funding for transport, traffic and road safety needs of council, and attend meetings to represent council’s position.
To be successful you will have proven experience in a similar role, prior local government experience is highly desirable. You will have a degree in Civil Engineering or relevant equivalent qualification. You will have demonstrated knowledge of traffic engineering and other engineering fields including civil design, construction supervision and asset management systems. You will have excellent time management, organisational and planning skills to complete tasks within time frames and budgetary requirements. You will be an excellent communicator, able to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders and be familiar with civil design software. You will hold a current Victorian Drivers License.
