We are currently seeking a senior engineer who can lead a team in the complete management of a municipal drainage system. This will range from the strategic development of the network (both in terms of its capability/performance as well as innovation (Integrated Water Management, WSUD) through to its day-day operational performance (including both capital works/major upgrades as well as overseeing the maintenance/cleaning function).
The ideal candidate will be a civil engineer with a background in water management. They could have experience either within another municipality, a consultant focused more on the strategic network, or a contractor delivering either capital works or maintenance projects. Whilst the client expects that the candidate will have expertise focused in one area, it is essential that they have the capacity and willingness to expand their experience into the other areas of the role.
This role manages a small team of internal staff as well as consultants and contractors. Prior management experience isn’t required but the potential to lead a team is.
This is a permanent role offering a salary of circa $120K and including an RDO.
