With so many infrastructure/environmental works around it can be hard to know which role to look at. Work within a delivery agency and get constrained by only working on one project; work for a large consultancy and run the risk of being seconded out to a mega-project anyway; work for a small company who don’t have the juice to work on larger projects and have limited career growth!
The company we are currently representing offer a potential solution. A large established consultancy they are able to work on a number of large-scale projects, but with their Melbourne operations being relatively new this means that their focus is on delivering quality planning and environmental services to a range of clients – giving you diversity across infrastructure, environmental, renewable and government projects.
As their planning arm is still relatively small but growing their next hires are considered key and have opportunity to move up in seniority as the company continues its expansion. This gives you the change to grow in role, responsibility as well as developing areas of business and clients that align with your interests (if they are in the broad remit of being infrastructure, environment, renewables, or government focused).
They are currently seeking a senior/associate level planner (salary circa $150-180K). The ideal candidate will be planning qualified and have expertise in delivering planning/environmental approvals for infrastructure-type projects. Candidates with a genuine passion for renewable projects would be highly regarded (but it’s not essential). Candidates should ideally have consulting experience and be comfortable advising senior clients and project managing complex projects.
