Property Officer

A fantastic opportunity has become available with a well-known, highly sought-after council with an extensive property portfolio. There is now an opportunity for someone to join their team and to assist with the growth of larger community assets.

If successful, your responsibilities are:

• To develop and implement policies and procedures throughout the property portfolio
• Undertaking investigations and provision of recommendations to Council regarding the acquisition management, leasing, and disposal of property assets
• Ensuring that the property portfolio is compliant with legal and statutory requirements
• Working with the other teams, particularly the Planning and Development and Community Infrastructure areas to provide internal advice
• To develop and maintain a property register which includes the relevant details required 
• Undertaking asset auditing 
• Providing recommendations regarding development and re-development of property assets

To be successful for this position, you must display the below:

• Experience in relation to Acquisition, Development, and disposal of properties
• Relevant tertiary qualifications (Property Economics, Property, Business – Property) or substantial experience in the same or similar role
• Sound understanding of local government functionalities and processes is highly regarded
• Knowledge of the Retail Leases Act, Land Act, Land Acquisition and Compensation Act
