Planned Resources have partnered with Moira Shire to recruit their next Senior Town Planner!

Moira Shire is just a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Melbourne boasting a warm climate and a stunning natural environment. They are home to a number of attractions including wineries, historic homesteads, galleries, beaches, forests, lakes, rivers and wetlands.

The planning team are looking to add a second Band 7 Senior Town planner on a permanent basis to tackle complex planning applications. As they are experiencing growth within their municipality, they are seeing more and more major development applications coming through for processing including subdivisions, hotel complexes, solar farms, unit developments and intensive agricultural applications.

You would be working within a small friendly team, tasked as the senior in the team with running the more complex applications. There is a strong focus on community within the municipality and it is expected that the senior planner should have good communication skills and to be able to ensure all parties feel that their opinions have been considered, whilst understanding that all applications will be dealt with based on their technical planning merits. Whilst not a leadership role; you will get the opportunity to step up and mentor / supervise the junior planners in the team and act in the coordinator position when the need arises as well as represent council at VCAT.

The ideal candidate will have at least 6+ years’ planning experience, (from either a metro or regional setting), ideally within Victoria (but experienced interstate planners would be considered).  They will have excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form as well as most importantly be a nice person who can fit seamlessly into a friendly planning team. Moira Shire is offering a hybrid working arrangement.
