Situated about 45 minutes away from Melbourne CBD, Cardinia is home to more than 118,000 people encompassing Officer, Pakenham, Garfield, Koo Wee Rup. It is one of the fastest growing municipalities in Victoria.
In order to support the growth of the municipality, council has created a brand-new statutory planning team that will be responsible for working on a range of (non-growth area) applications.
There is an incredible amount of diversity in the applications that you will deal with in Cardinia. Some applications that you will deal with will be in established urban townships with increasingly complex commercial, residential and industrial applications proportional to the significant population growth in the area. Other applications reflect the peri-urban location of the council and the tension between the urban and regional interface where you will deal with applications in bushfire overlays, areas with significant environmental considerations, complex drainage and infrastructure problems to consider.
The new team will consist of:
- 2 x Band 5 Statutory Planners – salary between $71,776- $88,773 + super
- 2 x Band 6 Statutory Planners – salary between $86,865 – $102,922 + super
The ideal candidates will have relevant qualifications in Town/Urban Planning and some experience in Victoria. For Band 5, we are ideally looking for those with 6+ months Victorian experience. While for Band 6, we are ideally looking for those with 3+ years’ Victorian experience.
Council is seeking the right person for the role, and as a forward-thinking employer they are open to negotiating remote, hybrid and other arrangements with their preferred candidates.
