Commercial Property Officer

We are seeking a professional reporting to the Senior Coordinator Property Management to contribute to high quality decision making regarding Council owned and/or managed properties by undertaking designated operational and statutory duties with emphasis on management of leases/licenses, sales, and acquisitions; and all administrative matters relating to Council’s property portfolio.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Continually assess and provide options to optimise the use and return on Council’s property portfolio consistent with Council objectives.
  • Liaise with local sporting / community organisations relating to leasing matters.
  • Implement and administer leases, licences and other agreements and ensure Council’s interests are fully protected.
  • Draft reports and recommendations to the Executive Team (ET) and Council, ensuring compliance to relevant Acts.
  • Ensure timely collection of information required to be provided under leases/licenses.
  • Administer and maintain Council’s lease and licence register.
  • Ensure all property lease management documentation is accurately maintained and recorded.
  • Provide oversight that maintenance is timely and relevant to ensure properties are fit for purpose.
  • Assist with any Crown Land management and related land use issues.
  • Provide advice on any building projections and encroachments into public space.
  • Administer town planning application referrals and provide accurate and timely advice.

This is a permanent long-term opportunity with the salary at Band 6 ($90,000-$100,000 + superannuation).
