A well-established survey business has recently opened its doors in Melbourne. They have a superb reputation and are now searching for a business leader to help spearhead the growth of the business in the area. This is a challenging yet highly rewarding opportunity to develop your experience as a senior licensed surveyor and business leader, making key decisions alongside other senior stakeholders in the business.
You will be tasked with acquiring new cadastral projects to work on, as well as attending sites, completing field surveys, and processing data during the business’s infancy, until support is hired, at which time your role will transition to a more traditional office-based role.
About the Senior Licensed Surveyor Role
- Preparing accurate survey plans, drawings, and reports in compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
- Preparing, lodging and monitoring land division applications through the portal
- Ability to tender for and win work for the business
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
- Providing expert advice and guidance on surveying-related matters
- Mentoring and training junior surveyors to develop their skills and expertise once on board
- Completing field surveys during the infancy of the role
Senior Licensed Surveyor Experience & Skills
- Registered / Licensed Surveyor
- Proficiency in surveying software and equipment – Trimble, AutoCAD, lisCAD, 12D
- Strong understanding of cadastral principles, land surveying laws, and regulations
- Prepared to act as field surveyor and licensed surveyor during the first 6 months
- Able to prepare quotes, win work and invoice
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
