Building Inspector required to provide services to the Building Control team within council. The role will ensure that all delegated building control responsibilities of the MBS are completed in an efficient, professional, and timely manner.
Specific responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Provide inspection and investigation in respect to compliance of buildings and building works.
- Determine appropriate action/response including advice, recommendations, correspondence, enforcement, and reporting.
- Provide professional and reliable production and issuing of reports, letters, notices, orders and certificates.
- Provide timely and efficient gathering and collation of evidence-based material.
- Perform witness duties where required.
- Control Action Requests relevant to the duties of the position (including Building Inspections, Building Control Investigations, Building and pool audits and legal actions) to ensure matters are satisfactorily actioned and resolved.
- Timely and efficient attendance to telephone and counter enquires.
- Ensure maintenance of files and computer records in conjunction with council staff.
- Administrative processing of building applications and resubmissions as required.
- Removal and returning of files to correct archive location on a daily basis.
- Receive and coordinate requests for mandatory building inspections.
Council is offering this role on a permanent Banded 8 basis with salary in the area of $125K-$135K. In addition, this role will be rostered on Emergency Callout service when required.
