Building Surveyor


Our client is one of the largest providers of building permits and inspection services in the western / northern regions of Victoria. We are currently looking for a Building Surveyor circa 5 years’ experience to join the team on a permanent basis. Primarily projects will be within the residential sector however, those with additional small commercial experience such as office/shop fit-outs and small warehouse developments will be highly sought after.

Position Objectives

  • Provide a high level of assistance providing efficient and effective building surveying services to ensure that building permits satisfy the Building Act, Regulations and Codes.
  • Contribute to the success of the company by providing prompt and efficient building surveying service which meets the requirements of the Building Act, Regulations and Codes, business targets and customer expectations.
  • To provide high level building surveying services, and manage the associated workflow in a thorough manner, ensuring compliance with legislative and business requirements.

You will be responsible for accurately checking applications for residential/commercial building permits in accordance with the provisions of the Building Act 1993, the Building Regulations 2018 and other relevant legislation as required. Ensure all communication, whether written, verbal or electronic, is clear and concise, co-ordinate files, documentation, maintain records and carry out office work associated.

Qualifications & Experience

  • An expert knowledge of relevant Acts and Regulations.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the building industry or Local Government with
  • regards to building surveying matters.
  • A current, valid driver’s license is essential.
