Our client is a dynamic and forward-thinking company that specialises in providing comprehensive planning, engagement, strategy, and environmental assessment services.  They are committed to making a positive impact on the world by focusing on climate and sustainability in everything they do.  Current projects include a number where there is intense interest from media, community and regulators, which adds a high level of complexity.

 

Position Overview:

Opportunity currently exists for a talented and driven Community Engagement and Stakeholder Liaison professional to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a rising star in the field who is ambitious and eager to make a meaningful impact. As a key member of the organisation, you will play a pivotal role in driving community engagement and building strong relationships with stakeholders across various sectors.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies that align with project goals using a range of platforms.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and industry partners.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective communication and community outreach.
  • Monitor and address community concerns and feedback, working to find mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Represent our client at meetings, public hearings, and community events.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in engagement, including the use of new media channels.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Environmental Studies, Public Relations, or a related field;
  • IAP2 Certificate would be highly regarded;
  • Proven experience in community engagement and stakeholder liaison roles;
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to develop and execute effective engagement strategies;
  • Strong project management and organisational skills;
  • Ambitious, forward-thinking, and passionate.

 

Part-time would be considered for the right candidate, and could particularly suit return to work parents.
