Our client is a one of Australia’s most highly respected multi-disciplinary practices. They have multiple offices around Australia and provide award winning services across Planning, Urban Design, Property Economics & Advisory and Social Strategy & Engagement.

Their client base is diverse, with significant existing relationships with State and Local Authorities, and the Development industry. This provides them with a pipeline of projects that is the envy of other organisations, and includes large infrastructure, strategic urban design, urban regeneration, greenfield development, public open space and community facilities all locked in and moving forward.

The opportunity

They are currently have an opportunity at Director Level for an experienced leader in the Social Planning and Strategy space. This is a key appointment for the business, and offers genuine opportunity for equity and career advancement.

This is a Director level role and will require the successful candidate to:

  • Build and drive the success of the Social Strategy Team;
  • In conjunction with all of the Directors, identify, assess and procure projects;
  • Mentor and develop the capabilities of the team members;
  • Forge long term client relationships;
  • Contribute to the broader industry by building a profile as a thought leader.

To be successful:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant field (Urban Design, Planning, Sociology, etc);
  • A minimum of 10 years experience focused on Social Planning, Social Sustainability or similar;
  • Demonstrated experience at a Senior level with responsibilities for Client Management, Team Leadership and Mentoring and Project Procurement;
  • A collaborative nature, with the ability to work closely with other teams or offices on multiple projects;
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written); and
  • A passion for delivering outstanding project outcomes.
