This statewide government organisation has a wide and varied asset portfolio which covers several atypical assets that property professionals would rarely get to work on. Their client base encompasses major commercial tenancies through to smaller community groups utilizing facilities for community benefit.
They are seeking a senior leasing officer who will take carriage of the organisations more complex lease negotiations (both in terms of dollar value, community benefit and political sensitivity).
The successful candidate will be able to negotiate good commercial outcomes for the organisation, maximizing financial return, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and corporate policy whilst understanding that there is a balancing act with the organisations purpose to balance commercial return with community benefit.
The ideal candidate will have experience of lease negotiation (non-residential). Previous experience of working within the public sector to understand requirements around probity would be highly regarded (but not essential as there are colleagues within the team that can assist with this). They will have great organisational skills as you’ll be negotiating multiple agreements concurrently and you’ll have excellent communication skills which will allow you to negotiate with a range of stakeholders from major corporate professionals through to laypersons acting on behalf of community organisations.
Initially this role will be offered on a contract basis for 3-6 months (rate circa $80+super an hour), with a strong potential for permanency subject to performance. Potential for a hybrid office/home arrangement – and candidates based in regional Victoria are potentially able to work out of one of the organisations regional offices.
