They’re currently looking for Town Planner (Band 6) and Senior Town Planner (Band 7) to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the planning and development function of the Council, and will play a key role in shaping the future of the region.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading and managing the planning and development function of the Council
- Preparing and implementing local planning policies and strategies
- Reviewing and assessing development applications
- Providing expert planning advice to Council and the community
- Representing the Council at planning and development related meetings and hearings
- Managing and mentoring junior staff members
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders
Qualifications and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Town Planning or related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations, including the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and the Victorian Planning Provisions
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong leadership and management abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- A current driver’s license
Salary packages:
- Band 6 – $79,260 – $85,893 + super
- Band 7 – $88,480 – $98,209 + super
- Hybrid working arrangement
- Would consider experienced candidates who may want to work 100% remotely
