Forensic Engineer – Gold Coast, QLD (With national travel)
$75k-120k (depending on experience level) + Company vehicle
We are currently recruiting on behalf of an engineering firm dedicated to forensic investigation and structural services. Unlike standard design roles, this position is for a professional who thrives on gathering information and analysing complex problems.
The Role: As a Forensic Engineer, you will be responsible for the assessment, investigation, and reporting of building defects and damage across residential and commercial sectors.
Forensic Engineer Responsibilities:
- On-site Investigations: Conduct detailed site inspections to identify the root cause of building failures using engineering principles and industry codes.
- Analyse structural failures and advise on precise remedial procedures.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports outlining causes of failure, recommendations, and scopes of work.
- Estimation: Provide detailed scopes of work and cost estimates for repairs.
- Design Support: Assist with engineering designs as required by the broader team.
- Client Management: Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with a diverse client base.
Forensic Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Structural preferred).
- 2 years of experience as a minimum.
- Proven experience in the investigation and assessment of building defects, failures, and repair methodologies.
- Technical Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and relevant Australian Standards.
- Exceptional verbal and written skills for technical reporting and strong verbal skills for stakeholder management.
- A valid Driver’s Licence and a willingness to travel (local, domestic, and interstate as required).
- Experience or knowledge of the construction industry is highly regarded.
