About the Role:

Our client, Master Plumbers, is the peak industry body for plumbing and mechanical services in Victoria and is committed to supporting and advancing the plumbing profession. They are seeking a qualified and experienced plumber who is passionate about shaping the future of the plumbing industry and ready to take the next step in their plumbing career. In the role of Technical Services Officer, you will provide expert advice and support across the plumbing sector. This position plays a key role in delivering value to members and stakeholders through technical guidance, regulatory interpretation, and contributions to projects that enhance industry standards and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate, practical technical and regulatory advice to industry professionals, regulators and consumers.
  • Interpret and apply plumbing standards, codes and relevant legislation to a broad range of queries and scenarios.
  • Review plans and specifications to design and size compliant roof drainage systems in line with Australian Standards.
  • Prepare technical articles, guidance material and correspondence for publication and stakeholder communication.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and contribute to submissions, consultation processes and broader industry advocacy.
  • Support projects aimed at improving processes, compliance outcomes and overall service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of technical enquiries and ensure timely, professional follow-up.

About you:

You are a technically skilled professional with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You enjoy problem-solving, sharing knowledge and helping to lift industry capability and compliance. You bring sound judgement, a collaborative mindset and a commitment to high professional standards.

You Must Have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a technical role within the plumbing or broader construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing regulations, Australian Standards and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to interpret Standards and apply them effectively to practical situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Highly organised, detail-focused and able to manage competing priorities.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Relevant vocational or tertiary qualification.
  • Certificate III or IV in Plumbing Services.
  • Registered or licensed plumber.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence and ability to meet police and Working with Children Check requirements.
