Seeking an opportunity to home in on your strategic planning skills in a progressive council? This could be the opportunity for you!
This council are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Principal Strategic Planner to work with their team on a range of projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of structure plans and planning scheme amendments for major activity centres.
About you:
This is a role made for someone with a passion and drive to assist in the development and delivery of community focussed projects. You will be able to work autonomously and be a driven self-starter as you will be the main point of contact for internal / external stakeholders.
Whilst this is a traditional strategic planning role in the type of projects you’ll be involved in, there is a need to be able to think outside the box to ensure that the community needs are met within the plans for the future.
You’ll ideally be a Band 7 experienced planner who can work at this capacity straight away. This role reports to the Coordinator but it’s quite autonomous – so it suits someone who is able to work without a lot of supervision.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing the structure plans and planning scheme amendments for major activity centres
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure plans are aligned with community and business needs
- Develop and implement community engagement strategies to ensure broad community input into planning processes
If you are a dynamic and motivated Strategic Planner seeking your next challenge, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. They offer a supportive and collaborative work environment, and the opportunity to make a real difference in the community.
