Project Engineer - Full Time | Planned Resources

The Role

The Project Engineer provides professional engineering expertise to support the planning, design, delivery and ongoing management of Council’s infrastructure assets.

The role contributes to sustainable asset outcomes by delivering high-quality technical advice, supporting capital works and development activities, and ensuring compliance with legislative, safety, environmental and financial requirements.

The position engages with internal and external stakeholders, including Council teams, contractors, developers and the community, providing clear technical advice and representing Council in discussions to support informed decision-making.

Person we are looking for

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated engineering professional who can provide practical and solutions focused support across Council’s infrastructure and capital works programs. You will bring strong technical capability, sound judgement, and the ability to manage projects, priorities and stakeholder relationships in a collaborative and professional manner.

You’ll be someone who communicates effectively, works well within a team environment, and takes a proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement. Experience in local government, project delivery, asset management and development assessment will be highly regarded.

 

Hours

This position has been classified as full-time (1.0FTE).  The Ordinary Hours of Work are between 7:00am and 7:00pm, Monday to Friday, with Depot being open from 7:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Thursdays, and 7:00am to 4:00pm Fridays. A 40-minute lunch break applies.

From time-to-time additional hours or hours outside the Ordinary Hours of Work may be required and these will be dealt with in accordance with the Enterprise agreement.

 

Pay

A competitive remuneration package will be offered, which will be determined commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. In addition to base remuneration, the role includes provision of a company laptop and mobile phone. Other remuneration package components are open for negotiation. Relocation assistance may also be provided where required, ensuring a smooth transition for the successful candidate. The Council pays a superannuation contribution of 12.5% on all wages.
