We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join council as a Report and Consent Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for processing applications for report and consent under the Building Act 1993, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating development projects within the city while upholding councils’ commitment to safety, sustainability, and community well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Review and assess applications for report and consent, including assessing compliance with building regulations, planning schemes, and relevant policies.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to applicants, architects, builders, and other stakeholders on report and consent requirements and processes.
- Liaise with internal departments, external agencies, and stakeholders to coordinate the review and processing of applications.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to verify compliance with approved plans and conditions.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, recommendations, and decisions on report and consent applications.
- Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation related to report and consent applications and decisions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in building control, planning, or regulatory compliance, preferably within a local government context.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Building Act 1993 and associated regulations, planning schemes, and building codes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings, plans, and documents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
- Demonstrated commitment to upholding standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
There is no requirement to be a Registered Surveyor however, you must have extensive Report & Consent experience.
