Regional council seeking a Building Surveyor to work as a member of the Planning & Building team. This role will complete all aspects of building surveyor within the Municipality including residential, commercial and industrial, supporting the Municipal Building Surveyor to ensure compliance with Council’s statutory responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out residential, commercial and industrial building inspections to ensure buildings and associated works are in accordance with approved building plans and the provisions of relevant legislation.
- Undertake follow up inspections to ensure the correction of any defective works and/or actions in relation to building matters.
- Provide accurate advice to internal and external customers on applicable building regulations.
- Regulate and enforce the requirements in relation to swimming pools and spas.
- Brief the Manager Planning and Building, Municipal Building Surveyor and/or Deputy
- Under supervision from the Municipal Building Surveyor examine and disseminate specialist technical information.
This role will be engaged on a contract hourly rate basis, in regional Victoria, you will be required to be on-site at least 2 days a week as well as being on-call. Happy to consider candidates willing to travel from metro.
