An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced building professional to step into a Senior Technical advisory role within a high-profile regulatory environment.
This role sits at the centre of a modern, evolving organisation responsible for overseeing building quality, safety, and compliance. You’ll play a key role in influencing outcomes, supporting field-based teams, and driving improved standards across the industry.
About the role
Reporting to a senior leader, you will act as the go-to technical expert across complex building compliance matters.
You’ll provide authoritative advice, support inspectors in the field, and help guide decision-making on enforcement pathways—particularly on high-risk and complex developments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert technical advice on complex compliance and inspection matters
- Supporting field teams with real-time guidance and decision-making
- Contributing to risk-based inspection and audit programs
- Coaching and developing capability across inspection teams
- Supporting strategic initiatives
- Engaging with key stakeholders across the organisation and industry
- Driving continuous improvement and best practice
About you
You’re a technically strong and credible professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys influencing outcomes.
You bring:
- Extensive experience in building surveying, inspections and compliance
- Deep knowledge of building legislation, codes, and standards (including NCC)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capability
- The ability to influence, coach and guide others
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
Requirements
- Registration as a Building Surveyor (Unlimited) in Victoria
- Strong experience in compliance, inspection and enforcement environments
- Current driver’s licence
