About the Role:

Opportunity exists for an Urban Design Leader to join their team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be interested in progressing their career by taking a leading role with respect to mentoring, team growth, client management and other leadership functions. Projects are an exciting range of state-wide projects, ranging from residential greenfield development, renewable energy developments, large public spaces and restoration and regeneration projects, all with a strong focus on sustainability.

The Responsibilities:

· Lead the conceptualisation and planning of urban design solutions that are functional, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing;
· Create and oversee the development of project proposals, design guidelines, and plans.
· Collaborate with other design professionals and consultants, including architects and engineers, to ensure integration of design goals and objectives.
· Play a key role in mentoring junior team members, providing leadership and guidance on all aspects of the project, from concept through construction.
· Conduct research to determine best practices in urban design and planning.
· Review and analyse zoning and land-use regulations, environmental assessments, and other relevant data to inform design decisions.
· Assist in business development activities by participating in marketing efforts and developing relationships with clients.

The Requirements:

· Degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture or Urban Design.
· Minimum 10 years of experience in urban design planning and design.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and projects.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
· Familiarity with building codes, zoning laws, and regulations.
· Passionate about sustainability, placemaking, and creating lasting impacts on communities.
