Project Architect


Job Title: Project Architect – Defence Department Projects

We are seeking an experienced Project Architect to join this medium sized practice to work on a variety of exciting Defence Department projects. As a Project Architect, you will be responsible for leading a team of architects and designers to deliver exceptional design solutions that meet our clients’ needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of defence department projects from inception to completion;
  • Manage a team of architects and designers to ensure project timelines and budgets are met;
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and consultants to develop design briefs, feasibility
    studies, and detailed design documentation;
  • Conduct site visits to assess project progress and quality of work;
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and regulations;
  • Participate in business development and proposal writing activities as required;
  • Manage project financials and track team time spent on projects; and
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality and design are met on all projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field;
  • At least 8 years of experience working in the architecture industry, with a focus on defence projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and leading teams of architects and designers;
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong design skills and experience with relevant design software;
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and regulations in the Defence Department context;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
