Job Title: Project Architect – Defence Department Projects
We are seeking an experienced Project Architect to join this medium sized practice to work on a variety of exciting Defence Department projects. As a Project Architect, you will be responsible for leading a team of architects and designers to deliver exceptional design solutions that meet our clients’ needs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and delivery of defence department projects from inception to completion;
- Manage a team of architects and designers to ensure project timelines and budgets are met;
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and consultants to develop design briefs, feasibility
studies, and detailed design documentation; - Conduct site visits to assess project progress and quality of work;
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and regulations;
- Participate in business development and proposal writing activities as required;
- Manage project financials and track team time spent on projects; and
- Ensure the highest standards of quality and design are met on all projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field;
- At least 8 years of experience working in the architecture industry, with a focus on defence projects
- Demonstrated experience managing projects and leading teams of architects and designers;
- Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong design skills and experience with relevant design software;
- Knowledge of relevant codes and regulations in the Defence Department context;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
