This forward-thinking
local council recognise the hardship that the last 2 years have brought to
local businesses and have established a role within council designed to assist
small businesses within their municipality.
Focusing on home
businesses and small retail this role is focused more on helping existing
business within the municipality rather than attracting new businesses and
helping to connect these businesses with support, networks and advice that will
help them navigate 2022.
This contract
initially runs for 6 months, during which time you will be involved in a range
of activities from providing information to the business community through
newsletters, website updates etc; managing the small business grants program;
running surveys and 1:1 meetings to identify common trends/struggles that small
business owners have and identify potential solutions; provide ad-hoc advice
and more.
The successful
candidate should ideally have previous experience in an Economic Development
focused role, and ideally have a background/empathy that resonates with small
business owners. Previous experience
working within council so that they understand how to navigate through red-tape
and what support a council can/cannot provide would also be highly regarded.
This is an initial 6 month contract role at a
rate of $45+super. For more information
