Salary: $98,396 to $119,052
Opportunity to play a significant part in protecting and supporting agricultural land around Melbourne and improving planning controls for the Green Wedges. You will form part of a specialised team in state government, liaising with local councils and other significant stakeholders in the development of the planning response and planning changes for these important assets.
The Senior Planner will act as the “technical lead” and will be the subject matter expert for the project, possessing a deep understanding/interest in planning for agricultural land, green wedge management and effective planning provisions. They will be the go-to person for your team, local councils and other stakeholders in helping to determine the planning response to deliver on key government actions and election commitments.
To Be Successful candidate will:
- Have experience in and knowledge of statutory and strategic land use planning within a metropolitan and regional planning context in Victoria and have knowledge of significant government policies and strategies on land use planning and legislation.
- Makes sound judgements; Implement complex strategies to build buy-in and support from key internal and external clients or stakeholders.
- Identifies issues in common for one or more stakeholders and uses them to build mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Hold relevant qualification in Planning, Environment, Social Sciences or Economics
