Located within a historically significant region, council require a candidate to review and develop their current heritage controls in order to provide municipal wide controls that will conserve significant historical architecture.
Your role will include a review of their current significant buildings and heritage controls to identify gaps and areas for improvement, and creation of improved controls. In conjunction with this you will be responsible for providing heritage advice to the statutory planning teams on any applications that have potential impact on heritage buildings.
In order to be successful in this role you will have a good understanding of heritage and experience of working in a role that incorporates architectural and historical conservation. It is envisioned that the candidate will come from a town planning background as they will understand the mechanisms of how to translate policy changes into the councils planning scheme, but candidates from other backgrounds who have a strong heritage understanding would also be considered.
