Great opportunity to work for a proactive council based in regional Victoria, (but potentially within commutable distance to Melbourne).
Backed by a supportive senior management team, and with a current and upcoming pipeline of work that would match many metropolitan councils this regional council is dealing with a plethora of strategic projects and is refreshingly aspirational about what it wants to achieve and prepared to innovate to create better project outcomes.
They are seeking to bolster their team by appointing a permanent band 7 strategic planner. Your role will be to provide strong technical support to the management team, helping to keep projects on track, ensuring consistency and helping to provide advice into the front end of the projects as well as running them through the amendment process.
The role would potentially suit:
- A band 6 planner (from either Metro or regional Victoria) looking for a step into an autonomous band 7 role where you have genuine ability to impact and innovate.
- Believing that they get a better result by hiring for personality and potential rather than “years of experience with the VPP’s”, this council is also open to receiving applications from interstate candidates who have gained a couple of years’ experience in council as a strategic planner and have delivered projects from start to finish.
