Immediate requirement for a strategic planner to work on the strategic development of a number of key sites for a local council.
The role will involve being able to create innovative, place-based planning solutions that will take into account the needs of the existing residents, interested developers/landowners, community groups and council requirements so has a strong element of consultation and stakeholder management.
As well as an ability to think in an innovative way about sites (both brownfield and greenfield) and have excellent stakeholder management skills, you should have strong written skills that will allow you to develop the required plans, reports and correspondence required to continue moving the project forward.
As the primary focus of the role is the development of place through engagement of stakeholders, the focus on the candidates is around finding someone with good strategic experience (ideally relating to site specific projects as opposed to blue-sky policy work), as opposed to being focused on Victorian experience. As such planners who may have recently moved to Victoria, but lack current Victorian experience would be considered for this role.
An attractive hourly rate, along with the realistic potential for the role being extended (previous placements into this council have typically had their contracts extended, or moved into permanent roles within the council).
