Focusing on providing planning solutions to complex problems across the public and private sector, our client is a well-known planning figure who is looking to grow their team. The role would be an excellent opportunity to learn from a mentor in developing your skills in innovative thinking in planning as well as develop/hone your consultancy skills.
You will ideally be a young planner with a couple of years under their belt (in either public or private), ideally within statutory planning but be seeking an opportunity to see the other side, both from a private sector perspective as well as becoming more involved in strategic projects.
You will be involved from the outset of projects, present at inception meetings, followed by debriefing with the director in the specifics of the project and then playing a pivotal role in project work where you will provide (in conjunction with the director) technical updates/advice to the client, write the bulk of the reports and project manage consultants to ensure a successful outcome.
Whist this is a private sector role there is no requirement to be an extrovert, the focus is on your technical skills, passion around planning and ability to deliver. Although for those planners looking to raise their profile within the profession there is also the opportunity to significantly raise your profile.
Offering an attractive salary and the opportunity to gain skills (both technical and consulting) that will elevate what you may potentially get in larger companies. This would be a great opportunity for an ambitious planner who is really looking to make a mark on the planning profession.
